Notes on Small Matters, by Narya

Author: Narya
Title: Notes on Small Matters
Characters: Fingon; Argon; Turgon
Pairing: Fingon/Maedhros
Text type / Format: Ficlet (not fixed length)
Source / Fandom: The Silmarillion
Rating: PG
Warnings: Allusions to canon character death
Word Count: 670
Summary: Fingon records a selection of details about his life from the Fourth Age onwards.
Author notes: The thematic and structural prompts this month both made me think of the UK shipping forecast - probably because of this piece by Himring, of which I am very fond. (I'm not a sailor, but I used to listen to the shipping forecast on occasion, if I was up at strange times for work.) Fingon's journal entries follow the same four-category structure, with brief comments against each one.

Pairing: background Fingon/Maedhros ("background" as in somewhere in the future of this ficlet)
Text type / Format: ficlet
Source / Fandom: Silmarillion

Summary: In Mithrim, after the rescue of Maedhros: Fingon and his half-orphaned niece Idril and an apple, a special one.
Author notes: This is a cross-post of an older ficlet I once wrote for the prompt "apples", which also now happens to fit the thematic prompt for October.
