Author: Himring
Title: Two epitaphs
Characters: Morwen, Rian
Pairing: canonical pairings implied
Text type / Format: poetry
Source / Fandom: Silmarillion
Rating: Teens
Warnings: Non-graphic canonical death
Word Count: 15
Summary: Two very short poems: the first about the death of Morwen, wife of Hurin, the second about the death of Rian, wife of Huor. The two were cousins; refugees from Dorthonion, they both saw their new life in Dor-lomin destroyed by the outcome of the Battle of Unnumbered Tears, in different ways.
Author notes: This is a cross-post of a pair of older poems that happen to fit the November challenge theme "elegy".
I
Morwen,
grey, weary,
after long wandering,
died unanswered but unconquered,
Elfsheen.
II
So many tears.
Numbered.
