Characters: Amras, Vána, Yavanna
Pairing: None
Text type / Format: Drabble
Source / Fandom: The Silmarillion

Summary: Amras is reminded of home.
Author notes: During the autumn, sea buckthorn grows wild on the UK's north-east coast. For some reason it has always given me a very Amras vibe.
I have accidentally used the formal prompt as the thematic prompt here, but hopefully that's still OK!

The sisters sang. At Yavanna's call, the thicket sprang up, all knarl-knots and quick-spines and thorns. Vána's voice, breathy and sweet, coaxed fragile green blooms into life. When their melodies joined, the round berries swelled – bright, fat beads of orange, clinging in clusters to the silvery shrubs.

Amras, well-hidden, marvelled and stared.
On Beleriand's shores, he found them again: thorned bushes on cliff-tops, with sun-coloured berries that tasted like home. As he picked them, he hummed. The air lifted, and he felt a light touch on his cheek. He turned – but the cliff-top was empty, save for the sorrowing gulls.

It would be quite the challenge to write a Valarin work song, but you give us a real sense of it! And by my lights Amras picking the berries would also fill the "harvest" prompt, although you don't mention it.
Would it be all right to add the "prompt fill" tag or would you prefer not to?
