Author: Anérea
Title: Primordial Daydream
Characters: The Faery Queen; Original Maia Character
Text type / Format: ficlet
Source / Fandom: Smith of Wootton Major / Book of Lost Tales / The Silmarillion
Rating: G
Word Count: 363
Summary: The Queen of Faery takes a little light trip down memory lane, Sparked by sallysavestheday's evocative collage Dream of the Forest for Scribbles & Drabbles 2024.
Author notes: I am utterly enchanted by Tolkien's description in The Book of Lost Tales of light being a liquid thing in the very early years (and versions) of Arda when the Ainur first came into the world. Sallysavestheday's lovely collage brought this to mind and then, as so often happens with writing, unexpected things happened and the Queen of Faery wandered into the tale.
If you're unfamiliar with The Silmarillion, Book of Lost Tales, or Smith of Wootton Major, I've provided a glossary and character list along with the teensiest bit of non-spoilery background at the end.
( Ficlet under the cut ... )
